The surest sign of a new Oneplus device being mere days away is when the rumors and leaks go into overdrive, and that’s exactly what is happening. In yet another leak that gives away supposedly important details and specifications of the upcoming phone, the Oneplus 6T now has a new set of specifications revealed. However, as always, we recommend you take this new information with a pinch of salt, and don’t buy too much into what this latest leak claims.
The new leak comes via a pre-order listing on a website called Giztop, which is said to be the official retail store for tech blog GizmoChina. The listing gives away details such as the price and various specifications of the phone, although it is listed as ‘out of stock’ with an availability date of October 16. The price is listed as $569 (approximately Rs 41,000), which is the purported price of the 6GB RAM / 64GB storage base variant.
Other specifications mentioned are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, OxygenOS based on Android Pie, a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) with a 91.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, a ‘light sensitive’ under-display fingerprint sensor, and most intriguingly, a triple-camera setup with 20-megapixel + 12-megapixel + TOF 3D sensors. There’s also a bump up to 25-megapixels for the front camera.
Other aspects of the design are given away in the image, which looks a lot like earlier renders that have surfaced. You see the triple-camera setup and the waterdrop notch as previously speculated, but what is interesting about this leak is the claim of the third sensor being a time-of-flight (TOF) 3D sensor. What a smartphone would need this sensor for is beyond us.
