Xiaomi IN : POCO F2 and POCO F2 Pro Could Be Coming to INDIA

⇒HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Poco F2 is speculated to be closely based on Redmi K20 and come with Snapdragon 730 chipset.
  • Poco F2 Pro could offer the Snapdragon 855 chipset and a fullscreen display.

The recently launched Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro are rumoured to come to India as Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro. The Redmi K20 is already rebranded as the Mi 9T for Europe.

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi recently announced the K20 and K20 Pro in China. And, while the two phones may not have the Poco branding; the K20 Pro certainly looks like it will play the part of a flagship killer.

The post even goes on to give out some expected specifications about the device. The Poco F2 is speculated to be closely based on the recently launched Redmi K20 and could come with a Snapdragon 730 chipset. The Poco F2 Pro, meanwhile, will be based on the Redmi K20 Pro and is expected to launch with the Snapdragon 855 chipset.

The Poco F1 was touted as the big bad flagship killer, and it would seem that Xiaomi has introduced yet another flagship killer in the form of the K20 series.

The Redmi K20 is indeed likely to be the Poco F2. The SD 855 edition is likely to be called F2 Pro and the SD730 just F2.  And the prices will be astonishing!

In India, Xiaomi has been trying to step up its game for the past few years with a couple of premium devices but none of them has worked well. The Mi series flagships were outdone by OnePlus flagships and even the Mi MIX 2 struggled to sell with the Xiaomi tag. With the Poco F1, Xiaomi tested whiff of success in making people accept Xiaomi's presence in the premium category. Therefore, with the redmi K20 series, Xiaomi will be able to up its ante against Oppo and Vivo in that price segment. Even Realme with its Realme X is expected to do the same.

The Poco F2 Pro will likely debut in India at Rs 25,000 for the base variant, which would make it the most affordable Snapdragon 855 smartphone to launch in India.
